RESULTS
ADRIAN, Mich. – The Calvin acrobatics and tumbling team scored a season-best 112.675 points in a tri-meet with Adrian and East Texas Baptist Wednesday night at Adrian's Merillat Center. East Texas Baptist took first with 189.645 points with Adrian second at 157.890 points.
Calvin's overall team score was a season best by more than 13 points as the Knights continue to pick up momentum.
Calvin scored 17.90 points in the compulsory event with a start value of 32.00. The score was nearly four points better than its Saturday compulsory performance at Buffalo State. Calvin scored highest in the pyramid heat at 6.55 with a start value of 8.00. The pyramid heat score .30 points better than Adrian.
In the acro event Calvin produced a season-best score of 19.10 with a start value of 24.60. The 5 element acro heat was a success with Calvin scoring 7.15 with a start value of 8.30. Calvin also produced a score of 6.75 in the 7 element acro heat, surpassing the score of 4.90 by Adrian and 3.85 by East Texas Baptist.
In the pyramid, Calvin recorded a season-best score of 24.80 with a start value of 27.80. It surpassed the score of 21.45 by Calvin last Saturday at Buffalo State and the score of 21.85 against Adrian on February 10. The Knights were solid in all three phases, scoring 8.40 (start value of 9.40) in the inversion heat, 7.90 (start value of 8.80) in the synchronized heat and 8.50 (start value of 9.20) in the open heat with Calvin surpassing East Texas Baptist in the final (open) heat. In the toss, Calvin had a score of 18.80 with a start value of 26.00 with the Knights just missing a season best score in the event.
Calvin concluded its competition with a season-best score of 32.075 in the tumbling event with the Knights finishing ahead of Adrian (30.900) and behind East Texas Baptist (38.025) in the heat. The aerial pass was Calvin's biggest point producer with the Knights scoring 7.60 points with a start value of 8.60. Yee,
