Photography and Video Access at Calvin Athletics Events
Calvin University welcomes responsible photography and video that help share the energy, achievement, and community of Calvin Athletics. This page explains when media representatives, freelance creators, influencers, students, families, and other guests need advance approval—and what access they may receive.
Photography in Spectator Areas
Guests may take photos or short personal videos from public spectator areas when they follow venue rules, follow sport etiquette, do not block sightlines or aisles, and do not interfere with the event. A ticket or general admission does not provide access to sidelines, team areas, press boxes, restricted facility areas, or other credentialed locations.
When credentials are required
Advance approval is required for anyone seeking access beyond public spectator areas, including sidelines, team areas, press boxes, restricted facility areas, or other designated media locations. Credentials are issued to a named individual for a specific event, are not transferable, and do not guarantee access to every area or to future events.
How requests are reviewed
Requests are reviewed based on the purpose and intended use of the coverage, the requester’s affiliation or assignment, available space, event operations, safety, institutional and media priorities, and applicable university, conference, or NCAA requirements. Approval is discretionary and may be limited or denied when operational needs or venue capacity require it.
Request access at least 72 hours before the event by emailing Jeff Febus at jeff.febus@calvin.edu
