BUFFALO, NY - Today the Calvin acrobatics and tumbling competed in day two of the NCATA Championships in a tri-meet against Adrian and Buffalo State. After a steady first half, the Knights came alive in the second half of competition where they put enough distance between them and their competitors to pick up the tri-meet victory (including head-to-head wins over Adrian and Buffalo State) to take fifth place.

The Knights kicked off the six-event competition in the compulsory event which included acro, pyramid, toss, and tumbling heats. Calvin had a start value of 34.00 and received a final score of 24.150 with their highest score of 7.05 coming in the toss heat. Adrian had a start value of 38.00 and received a score of 27.375 while Buffalo State had a start value of 26.00 and finished with a score of 22.50.

In the acro event, Adrian came out on top when they scored a 23.85 followed by Trine with a 23.625 while Calvin scored a 21.875.

The day continued into the pyramid event where the Knights finished with a score of 25.425 after having a start value of 27.50. Their best score came in the open heat where they scored a 8.80. Adrian had a start value of 27.70 and received a 25.575 while Buffalo State had a start value of 28.50 and finished with a score of 26.175.Â

In the toss event, Calvin had a starting score of 25.90 and finished with a score of 22.250. Adrian had a start value of 26.10 and received a score of 20.85 while Buffalo State received a score of 22.95 after having a starting value of 25.90.Â

In the tumbling event, where the Knights had a start value of 48.05, the squads competed in a duo pass, trio pass, quad pass, arial pass, 6 element pass, and an open pass. The Knights finished the highest score in the event at 42.425 with their best score of 7.975 coming in the six-element pass. Adrian received a score of 38.275 while Buffalo State had a score of 37.90.

In the final event of the evening the Knights received a team score of 54.25 while Adrian scored a 46.18 and Buffalo State recorded a 55.58.

After completing all the events the Knights finished on top of the standings with a final score of 190.375 while Buffalo State had 188.73 followed by Adrian at 182.105
The wins over Adrian and Buffalo State marked the first head-to-head victories in program history,Â
