Calvin Acrobatics and Tumbling Falls to Trine and Adrian in Tri-Meet

ADRIAN, Mich. - Today the Calvin acrobatics and tumbling team traveled to Adrian to compete in a tri-meet against the Bulldogs and the Thunder of Trine. 
 
The Knights kicked off the six-event competition evening in the compulsory event which included acro, pyramid, toss, and tumbling heats. Calvin had a start value of 34.00 and received a final score of 20.25 with their highest score of 7.05 coming in the pyramid heat. Adrian had a start value of 40.00 and received a score of 25.75 while Trine had a start value of 40.00 and finished with a score of 31.75.
 
In the acro event, Trine came out on top when they scored a 29.75 followed by Calvin with a 22.05 while Adrian scored a 21.60.
 
The competition continued in the pyramid where the Knights finished with a score of 24.00 after having a start value of 27.50. Their best score in the event came in the inversion heat where they scored a 9.50. In the same event, Trine had a start value of 30.00 and received a final score of 27.60 while Adrian had a start value of 27.70 and received a 25.85.
 
In the toss event Calvin had a starting score of 25.90 and finished with a score of 21.65. The Thunder had a start value of 27.40 and received a score of 24.80 while Adrian had a start of 26.20 and finished with a score of 21.40. In the tumbling event, where the Knights had a start value of 48.05, the squads competed in a duo pass, trio pass, quad pass, arial pass, 6 element pass, and an open pass. The Knights finished with a score 41.15 while Trine received a score of 43.225 and Adrian had a score of 38.55
 
The evening came to a close after the team event where the Knights had a start value of 74.17 and received a score of 50.02. Trine received a team score 73.94 and Adrian received a score of 38.55.
 
After completing all of the events, the Knights finished with a final score 179.12 while Adrian took second with a score of 181.28 and Trine sat atop the standing with a score of 226.215.
 
UP NEXT: The Knights will be back in action on Saturday, March 29th when they welcome Trine to Van Noord Arena for a meet at 3PM.
