BUFFALO, N.Y. - Today the Calvin acrobatics and tumbling team continued their inaugural season against Buffalo State in a dual meet where they fell 170.125-184.810.

The Knights opened the six-rotation competition with the compulsory event which included acro, pyramid, toss, and tumbling rotations. With a start value of 32 points, Calvin earned 20.30 while Buffalo State had a start value of 26 points and earned 23.10 points.

In the acro rotation, Calvin began with a start value of 24.20 points and earned an impressive score of 21.55 with their highest score of 7.90 coming in the first heat. Buffalo State had a start value of 25.05 and earned 23.50 points to edge out the Knights.

In the pyramid competition, Calvin had a start value of 27.10 and earned a strong final score of 23.40. The Knights best score of the pyramid came in the third heat when they scored a 8.25. However, after having a start value of 27.70 Buffalo State once again outscored the Knights when they earned a score of 26.10.

Moving into the three-heat toss rotation, Calvin began with a starting value of 26.00 and earned a final score of 21.00. Buffalo State had a starting value of 25.90 and earned a score of 24.00.

In the six-round tumbling rotation, the Knights had a start value of 46.60 and recorded a final score of 36.675. Buffalo State had a starting value of 36.00 and earned a final score of 32.450 as Calvin won their first rotation of the meet.

In the team event, the final rotation of the meet, Calvin had a starting value of 76.10 and earned a final score of 47.20. Buffalo State had a starting value of 71.91 and had a final score of 55.66.

COACHES COMMENT: "The team worked incredibly hard in the last four practices between our last meet and this one," said head coach Ellen Barker. "Improving by over 10 points in one week takes real dedication, and after getting a meet under their belt, they were ready for the challenge. We're looking forward to a little bit of time to continue to improve details and get even stronger."

UP NEXT: The Knights will be back in action on Thursday, March 6th when they travel to take on Concordia University (Wis.) at 6PM (CT).
