The Calvin women's swimming and diving team improved to 4-1 in dual meet action with a 185-91 victory over Wheaton Saturday afternoon inside the Venema Aquatic Center.
Calvin claimed the opening race of the day - the 200 medley relay – in a tie of 1:48.89. The relay team consisted of junior Isabella Gable (Greenville, Oh./Arcanum-Butler HS), sophomore Haley Thier (Scranton, Pa./Scranton Prep), junior Maggie Farrel (Portage, Mich./Portage Central HS) and sophomore Sydney Sonday (Portage, Mich./Portage Central HS).
Calvin sophomore Megan Pankratz (Palatine, Il./William Fremd HS) then delivered a win in the 1,000 freestyle with a time of 11:22.98.
Gable cruised to a win in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:00.60.
Senior Claire Sytsma (Ada, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian HS) was a double-winner, taking wins in the 100 backstroke (1:00.42) and 200 backstroke (2:12.82).
Farrell was a double-winner individually, taking first place in the 50 free (24.53) and 100 free (54.18).
Senior Rebecca DiCosola (Lisle, Il./Home School) was a double-winner in the diving competition, winning the one-meter (177.76) and three-meter (166.50) diving competitions.
Thier won the 200 breaststroke (2:30.67) with junior Sadie Norman (Fulton, Il./Fulton HS) winning the 100 butterfly (1:02.47) and freshman Elyse Radawski (Jenison, Mich./Jenison HS) winning the 200 IM (2:15.61).
