OLIVET, Mich. – The Calvin women's swimming and diving team picked up a 128-49 dual meet victory over Olivet Saturday afternoon.
The Knights are now 5-3 in dual meet action this season.
Calvin opened the meet by winning the 400 medley relay in a time of 4:12.13. Calvin's winning relay team included sophomore Sadie Norman (Fulton, Il./Fulton HS), freshman Abigal Merz (Flint, Mich./Powers Catholic HS), freshman Haley Thier (Scranton, Pa./Scranton Prep) and freshman Sydney Sonday (Portage, Mich./Portage Central HS).
Sonday was a double winner, taking first place in the 200 freestyle (2:05.17) and 100 freestyle (56.46).
Sophomore Maggie Farrell (Portage, Mich./Portage Central HS) was also a double winner, taking first place in the 50 freestyle (25.19) and 200 butterfly (2:14.49).
Thier claimed a win in the 200 backstroke, winning with a time of 2:15.62.
Calvin's 200 freestyle relay team of Their, senior Emilia Shokoohi (Saginaw, Mich./Heritage HS), sophomore Jenna Pierce (Holland, Mich./Holland Christian HS) and Farrell won with a time of 1:43.52.
NEXT UP: Calvin will host Wayne State next Friday in a dual meet set to start at 5 p.m. inside the Venema Aquatic Center.
