Caleb Bartels was named MIAA Player of the Week for men's tennis on Monday.
Bartels (Loch Lloyd, Mo./Kansas City Christian) won the honor after a 2-0 week in singles to help the Knights to a 1-1 record.
In the lone MIAA contest of the week, Bartels won 6-4, 6-2 in two-singles to help the Knights to a 6-1 win at Trine University. He followed that by earning a 6-3, 6-2 win in one-singles at Lawrence Tech, a match where the Knights lost 4-3.
Bartels also won both doubles matches during the week, teaming with
Tanner Warners (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian) for 6-4 wins in the three-doubles spot in both matches.
With the two wins, Bartels has now won eight consecutive singles matches to lead a Calvin team that is 4-0 in MIAA play.
This week, the Knights will conclude the regular season with home matches against Adrian College (Wednesday, April 22) and Kalamazoo College (Saturday, April 25), as well as a road match at Alma College (Thursday, April 23).
