GOSHEN, Ind. – The Calvin University men's tennis team's match at Goshen College was called due to rain in the middle of the match on Friday.

The Knights trailed 2-1 at the time the match was called with three singles matches still taking place and another singles match yet to be started.

Goshen won the doubles point by taking two of the three doubles contests. Calvin's number-one team of Rodrigo Alipio (Santos, Sao Paulo, Brazil/COC Universitario) and Felipe Sartori (Estr. Basileia/Colegio Giusto Zonzini) won their match 6-2, but Goshen took the other two doubles contests 6-1 and 6-3 to earn the point.

Alipio won his number-one singles match due to the Goshen player retiring with the score 3-3 in the first set, and Goshen won the number-four match in straight sets to earn a second point.

Goshen was up by one set in the numbers two, three and five matches when rain forced the cancellation.

NEXT UP: Calvin men's tennis will return to action on Saturday, October 24, when it plays two matches at Spring Arbor University. The Knights will play Spring Arbor at 9:00 AM, followed by a match against Ashland University at 12:00 PM.
