Calvin University senior midfielder
Mikaela Waroway was named MIAA Offensive Player of the Week for women's soccer on Monday.
Waroway (Ann Arbor, Mich./Father Richard Gabriel) won the honor for her performance in a pair of wins for the 11th-ranked Knights against Kalamazoo College (3-0) and The University of Olivet (9-0) to help Calvin improve to 13-1-1 on the season and 6-0-1 in MIAA play.
In a first-place battle to open the week against Kalamazoo, Waroway scored all three goals for her third hat trick of the season to top the unbeaten in league play Hornets. She followed that with one goal and one assist in limited minutes against Olivet to close the week.
Waroway leads Calvin and ranks second in the MIAA this season with 15 goals and 33 points. She ranks sixth in NCAA III in goals and fifth in game-winning goals (five).
This marks the second time this season Waroway has been named MIAA Offensive Player of the Year.
Calvin women's soccer will return to action on Wednesday, October 28, when it closes the regular season with a 4:00 PM match at Alma College.
