Calvin University junior Rodrigo Alipio was named MIAA Men's Tennis Player of the Week on Monday.
 
Alipio (Santos, São Paulo, Brazil/COC Universitario) won the honor for his performance in an exhibition match against NCAA II Grand Valley State University on Friday, January 23.
 
In his match in number-one singles, Alipio scored the lone Calvin point with a 7-6 (7-3), 3-6, 7-5 win.
 
This marks the seventh time in his career and the second time this season that Alipio has won MIAA Men's Tennis Player of the Week.
 
Calvin men's tennis will return to action on Saturday, February 14, when the Knights play at Ferris State University.
