Calvin Men's Swimming and Diving Continues to Hold No. 10 Spot in CSCAA D3 Top 25 Poll

The Calvin University men's swimming and diving team is holding steady in the national rankings The Knights are again ranked 10th in the latest Division III Top 25 poll conducted by the College Swim Coaches Association (CSCAA). The poll was released Friday afternoon.

The Knights were ranked 17th in the first poll of the season in mid-October and moved up seven spots in the November and December rankings conducted by the CSCAA. For the third straight poll, the Knights continue to hold the No. 10 spot.

Under the direction of head coach Dan Gelderloos, Calvin has participated in eight competitions this season, including one dual meet win over Wheaton College on Saturday, November 8. The Knights also took first place in the two-day Calvin Quad Meet against Ohio Northern University, Albion College and Carthage College on October 31-November 1.

At its own Calvin Winter Invitational in December, Calvin placed second in a field of nationally-ranked Division II opponents. Calvin finished ahead of current Division II ranked Findlay (No. 8) and Northern Michigan (No. 11).

Calvin recently dropped highly competitive dual meets, falling to (Division II) No. 14 Wayne State 136-104 on January 9 and 190-110 at (Division III) No. 4 University of Chicago on January 17.

Calvin will host an MIAA Invitational on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. inside the Venema Aquatic Center.
