The Calvin men's and women's swimming and diving teams have not only produced in the pool but also in the classroom. Both teams were recently named to the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America honor roll for the 2025 fall semester.
The Team Scholar All American award is presented to college and university swimming and diving teams, who have achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. The award is presented twice annually, once in the fall semester/term and in the semester/term of the NCAA/NAIA/NJCAA Swimming and Diving Championships (Winter/Spring).
Under the direction of head coach
Dan Gelderloos, the Calvin women's team posted a cumulative team grade point average of 3.44 for the fall semester while the Calvin men's team posted a cumulative team grade point average of 3.15.
"I am very proud of our teams for accomplishing this goal," said Gelderloos. "One of the goals before the year begins is to earn this award. We stress hard work and excellence not only in the pool but in the classroom. It is gratifying to see our student-athletes recognized for their efforts."
Along with their classroom excellence, both the Calvin men and women have performed at a high level in the pool. The men were ranked 10th in latest CSCAA poll while the women were ranked 14th.
Calvin will return to action on Saturday, February 24, when it hosts the MIAA Invitational at 11:30 a.m. at the Venema Aquatic Center.
