Two members of the Calvin women's tennis team have received College Sports Communicators Academic All-District accolades. Those two individuals are juniors
Tessa Holman and
Julia Hooker.
To receive CSC Academic All-District accolades, individuals must be a sophomore or higher in academic standing, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher and been in a team's lineup for 70 percent or more of the team's competitions.
Holman is receiving CSC Academic All-District honors for the second straight year. A junior from Washington, Michigan, Holman is a nursing major. A graduate of Romeo High School, Holman played No. 1 singles for the Knights this year as well as No. 3 doubles. She was named to the All-MIAA First Team earlier this month. She is a two-time member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll and a four-time member of the Calvin Dean's List. She has received ITA All-Academic honors twice.
Hooker is from East Grand Rapids, Michigan. She is a graduate of East Grand Rapids High School. She is receiving CSC Academic All-District honors for the first time. Also a nursing major, Hooker was a stalwart for Calvin at No. 5 singles and No. 2 doubles. Hooker is also a two-time member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll, a two-time member of the ITA Academic Team and a four-time member of the Calvin Dean's List.
Holman and Hooker helped the Calvin women's tennis team produce an overall record of 14-6 this season including a 5-3 conference mark that was good for a fourth place MIAA finish.
