Calvin University sophomore
Ryan Morey was named All-MIAA Second Team by the conference on Thursday.
Morey (Grand Rapids, Mich./Forest Hills Northern) earned the honor for the first time in her career after a strong sophomore season near the top of the Calvin singles lineup.
Playing mostly out of the two-singles spot, Morey finished the regular season 8-6 overall in singles, including a 5-3 mark in MIAA contests to help Calvin to a 6-2 league record and a tie for second place in the final conference standings.Â
Morey also played in the one-doubles spot throughout the MIAA season and went 4-4 during those matches.
Prior to this season, Morey went 16-1 in singles last year as a freshman playing most in the six-singles spot.
Calvin women's tennis returns to action today (Thursday, April 30) when it hosts Saint Mary's College (Ind.) in the MIAA Tournament semifinals at 4:00 at Strikwerda Tennis Center.Â
