Calvin Men's Tennis Breezes Past Bethel At Home

Box Score GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Today the Calvin men's tennis team improved to a 6-5 overall record when they took down Bethel 5-2.
 
The Knights started strong as they took the doubled points thanks to wins from sophomore Rodrigo Alipio (Santos, São Paulo, Brazil/COC Universitario) and Mario Neto (Boa Vista, Brazil/Reino) (6-4) in the number one match and junior Ryan Broek (Hudsonville, Mich./Unity Christian) and sophomore Felipe Sartori (Estr. Basileia/Colegio Giusto Zonzini) (6-4) in the number two match.
 
In singles, Alipio won in straight sets of 6-4 and 6-2 while, after dropping the first set 2-6, freshman Caleb Bartels (Belton, Mo./Kansas City Christian) bounced back to take the next two sets 6-1 and 6-2. 
 
Neto and junior Corwin Kim (Livonia, Mich./Stevenson) also picked up singles wins as the Knights rolled on to claim the 5-2 victory over Bethel.
 
UP NEXT: The Knights will be back in action on Tuesday, March 25th when they welcome Spring Arbor to campus. The match is set to begin at 4PM.
