Today the Collegiate Triathlon Coaches Association (CTCA) announced the All-West Regional team which features Calvin senior Kathryn Gardner (Sarasota, Fl./Riverview).
 
The honor comes after last weekend's NCAA West Regional Qualifier where Gardner competed in the first heat of the day against a majority Division I athlete. Crossing the finish line with an impressive time of 1:14:46 she placed fourth individually in Division III competition while also helping the Knights take second place in the team event.
 
Gardner has been the top finisher for Calvin in all three of their competitions this year with her best time being 1:11:37 at the Millikin DIII Invitational. The Knights will close out their season on November 9th, when the travel to Tempe, Arizona to compete at NCAA Nationals.
