Calvin University Head Football Coach Trent Figg was introduced to the Calvin and West Michigan community at an introductory press conference Wednesday afternoon at Van Noord Arena.

Figg was joined by his wife Tori and their sons Titus, Thomas and Tobias as well as his parents who drove up from his hometown of Chillicothe, Missouri.

"Needless to say I am extremely excited to be here," said Figg "Even more important than that, I am so thankful and I want everyone to know that I do not take this (position) lightly. This is such a special time and Calvin is such a special place."

After offering words of thanks, Figg then went on to talk about his plans for the Calvin University football program which will begin with the recruitment of student-athletes and adding members to his coaching staff.

The 2023-24 academic year will feature a year of building and practices. Calvin's first games are scheduled for the fall of 2024.
