Calvin head football coach Trent Figg is the featured guest of the latest edition of the West Michigan based Local Legends Podcast. The show is co-hosted by local media personality Jason Hutton, a frequent commentator on Calvin football broadcasts, and local Grand Rapids Northview High School head football coach Ryan Oshnock. The show primarily covers high school football in the state of Michigan along with insights into the college game in Michigan.  

In the featured segment, Figg details his coaching career leading up to his appointment as Calvin's inaugural head football coach in January of 2023. He then describes the continued growth of the Calvin football program which is scheduled to head into its third varsity campaign this fall. He also offers his thoughts on the overall (small college and Division I) collegiate football landscape as well as football in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association.
