GRAND RAPIDS - Calvin men's tennis opened the fall season with an 8-1 defeat to Cornerstone in an exhibition match on Wednesday. 

The Knights' lone point came in No. 2 singles, where first-year player Corwin Kim (Livonia, Mich./Stevenson) won in straight sets 6-4, 6-3.

Cornerstone (1-0) proved too tough in the other matches, as it took all three doubles contests by the results of 8-2, 8-4 and 8-2.

The Golden Eagles also took the five other singles matches in straight sets.
