Calvin Women's Golf Takes Fourth at Opening Round of MIAA Spring AQ Tournament

GRANGER, Ind. – The Calvin women's golf team competed at the opening round of the MIAA Spring AQ Tournament. Tuesday's competition was held at the Knollwood Country Club.

Calvin posted a fourth place team score of 347 strokes.

Host Saint Mary's took first with a score of 326 followed by Hope and Adrian tied for second at 343.

Calvin's top individual finisher on Tuesday was senior Emma Dykhouse (Byron Center, Mich./South Christian HS) with an 85 that tied for eighth place individually.

Senior Kaylee Hirschman (Grand Ledge, Mich./Grand Ledge HS) was next with an 86 that tied for 12th place individually.

Junior Jericha Sharporn (Hudsonville, Mich./Hudsonville HS) was 13th individually with an 87 while sophomore Chandler Sjoerdsma (Riverside, Ca./Martin Luther King HS) and sophomore Georgie Scholtens (Grandville, Mich./Calvin Christian HS) tied for 14th place with round of 89.

Calvin returns to action on Friday at the second MIAA Spring AQ Round with action set to tee off at 1 p.m. at the Clearbrook Country Club.

The MIAA Spring AQ Tournament is a cumulative 54-hole tournament with the final tournament winner received an automatic trip to the NCAA III Championships in May.
