Calvin Women's Golf Finished Day One of Hope Invitational in Fourth Place

SAUGATUCK, Mich. - Today the Calvin women's golf team continued their spring schedule when they competed in day one of the Hope Invitational.
 
After the first round of play the Knights sat tied for fourth place with Alma as both teams shot a score of 358. Lake Forest finished in third place while Adrian took second place. Host Hope College finished round one atop the standings with a score of 338.
 
Junior Andrea Diemer (Wyoming, Mich./Calvin Christian) and senior Kayla Adkins (Springfield, Ohio/Springfield) were Calvin's top finishers as they both finished with a score of 87 on the par-72 course. 
 
Senior Gina Sonday (Portland, Mich./Portland) was next on the leaderboard for the Knights with a score of 91 while junior Ava McConnon (Las Vegas, Nev./Faith Lutheran) was close behind with a 93.
 
Freshman Elizabeth Lubowicki (Brighton, Mich./Brighton) shot 96 while playing individually as a wild card.
 
UP NEXT: The Knights will be back in action tomorrow morning when they compete in day two of the Hope Invitational at 9 AM.
