SAUGATUCK, Mich. – The Calvin University women's golf team returned to competition on Saturday for the Two-Ball Challenge against Hope College at Clearbrook Country Club.
The format of the event was as follows:
- Holes 1-6: best ball (use best score of the team's players
- Holes 7-12: alternate shot
- Holes 13-18: better ball (two-player scramble)
The top Calvin duo was the team of
Andrea Diemer (Wyoming, Mich./Calvin Christian) and
Ava McConnon (Grand Rapids, Mich./Northpointe Christian), who tied for third with a score of 78.
The team of
Kayla Adkins (Springfield, Ill./Springfield) and
Gina Sonday (Portland, Mich./Portland) came in fifth with a score of 80.
Elizabeth Lubowicki (Brighton, Mich./Brighton) and
Elizabeth Van Dusseldorp (Holland, Mich./Holland Christian) shot 85 to take seventh place, while the team of
Ava Endelman (Las Vegas, Nev./Faith Lutheran) and
Preslie Riggs (Genesee, Mich./Genessee) shot 93 and
Isabella Rutherford (Indianapolis, Ind./Heritage Christian) and
Kiera Bishop (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian) shot 95.

COACH'S COMMENT: "We had a great opportunity of being able to go back outside against after a great spring break," Calvin head coach
Jerry Bergsma said. "We didn't get the results we wanted but we're excited to get back to work for the next two weeks before our next tournament."
