ANGOLA, Ind. – The Calvin men's tennis team dropped a 7-2 conference decision at Trine University on Saturday.
The Knights dip to 10-6 overall and 3-2 in the MIAA.
Trine swept the three doubles points, winning 8-4 at No. 1 doubles, 8-5 at No. 2 doubles and 8-6 at No. 3 doubles.
Calvin picked up two points in singles play.
Freshman Stuart Johnston (Grand Blanc, Mich./Grand Blanc HS) picked up Calvin's first point, winning 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3 singles.
Sophomore Harrison Sindelar (Westfield, Ind./Westfield HS) picked up Calvin's second point, winning 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 at No. 1 singles.
Calvin had close matches at No. 2 and No. 4 singles. Freshman Adam Zentner (Clarkston, Mich./Clarkston HS) fell 7-6, 7-5 to Aaron Streit at No. 2 singles. Sophomore Jared Berghorst (Hudsonville, Mich./Hudsonville HS) dropped a 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 decision to Drew Dixon at No. 4 singles.
