ADRIAN, Mich. - Calvin baseball fell to Adrian in the first game of its weekend series with a final score of 10-6 on Friday evening at Adrian's Nicolay Field. 

Friday marked the MIAA opener for both teams.

The Knights trailed 4-0 going into the bottom of the second, but a grand slam by senior Nate Bonter (Grand Haven, MI / Grand Haven) tied the game up at 4-4. 

Adrian (9-6 overall, 1-0 MIAA) scored two in the third, one in the fourth and two more in the sixth to stretch out its lead however. 

Calvin picked up a run in the seventh on an RBI double by sophomore Nate Mason (Portage, Mich./Portage Northern HS) and brought home another in the eighth on an RBI double by senior Andrew Hung (Waterford, Mich./Waterford Mott) in the eighth but did not score again. 

Hung and senior Ricky Padilla (Poway, CA / Poway) finished the game with two hits apiece while Bonter had 4 RBIs. 

Senior Hayden White (Spring Valley, CA / Grossmont) took the loss on the mound for the Knights as he went four innings and scattered seven hits. 

UP NEXT:  Calvin will head back to Adrian tomorrow for a doubleheader starting at noon.
