LANSING, Mich. – The Calvin men's tennis fell to Spring Arbor 8-1 on Friday afternoon inside the Michigan Athletic Center.
The Knights slip to 7-4 on the season.
Spring Arbor took control by winning all three doubles points, winning 8-4 at No. 1 doubles, 8-5 at No. 2 doubles and 8-1 at No. 3 doubles.
Calvin's lone point came from freshman Stuart Johnston (Grand Blanc, Mich./Grand Blanc HS) at No. 3 singles, defeating Sebastian Smith 6-3, 0-6, 10-6.
Sophomore Adam Zentner (Clarkston, Mich./Clarkston HS) also came up with a big effort at No. 2 singles before falling 6-3, 3-6, 10-4 to Brendan Bentley.
NEXT UP: Calvin will now prepare for its MIAA opener, scheduled for March 29 at defending league champion Kalamazoo College.
