SAUGATUCK, Mich. - Calvin women's golf played against Hope in a head-to-head match at Clearbook Country Club. The Knights fell to the Flying Dutch with 7.5 points to Hope and 2.5 points to Calvin. Saturday's competition took place at the Clearbrook Country Club.
In the #1 spot Chandler Sjoerdsma (Riverside, CA / Martin Luther King) defeated Megan Jenkinson, 5-4. Senior Emma Dykhouse (Byron Center, MI / South Christian) tied with Megan Radaz at the #2 spot. Senior Kaylee Hirschman (Grand Ledge, MI / Grand Ledge) fell to Emlin Munch with a score of 2-1.
Junior Jericha Scharphorn (Hudsonville, MI / Hudsonville) came up just short against Grace Van Dellen, 3-2. Sophomore Georgie Scholtens (Grandville, MI / Calvin Christian) took down Abby Fansler by going up by 1 up. Sophomore Brandi Statema (Holland, MI / Holland Christian) fell short against Rita Cheney with a score of 7-5.
Sophomore Katherine Lamer (Grand Rapids, MI / Grand Rapids Christian) lost to Lauren Sass with a score of 8-6. Sophomore Anna Johnson (Holt, MI / Holt) was defeated to Abby Derocher, 8-6.
Freshman Audrey Howard (Olathe, KS / Shawnee Mission-Bishop Miege) was short against Lexi Miller was she was defeated 8-6. Freshman Elizabeth Wichers (Puyallup, WA / Cascade Christian) fell to Sarah Owens 9-8 to round out the competition.
UP NEXT: The Knights will compete in the first MIAA Tournament hosted by Kalamazoo at Milham GC on Saturday.
