INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Calvin dropped a 5-4 decision at Anderson University Saturday morning to dip to 1-2 on the season.
Calvin took two of the three doubles points to grab an early lead in the match.
Sophomore Adam Zentner (Clarkston, Mich./Clarkston HS) and freshman Stuart Johnson defeated Colton Stevens and Tucker Bradley 8-7 at No. 1 doubles. Sophomore Harrison Sindelaar (Westfield, Ind./Westfield HS) and sophomore Isaac Jeong (Novi, Mich./Novi HS) fell 8-5 to Seth Nation and Parker Bradley.
Sophomores Jace DeShetler (Grand Rapids, Mich./Northpointe Christian HS) and Jared Berghorst (Hudsonville, Mich./Hudsonville HS) defeated Sam Songer and Cory Evans 8-6 at No. 3 doubles.
In singles, Sindelaar won 6-3, 6-0 at No. 1 singles over Colton Stevens.
Berghorst was a 6-3, 4-6, 10-5 winner over Dylan Lemon at No. 6 singles. Anderson won the remaining four singles matches however including a lengthy three-set victory at No. 3 singles to pull out the match win.
NEXT UP: Calvin will now break until February when it is scheduled to face Wisconsin-Lutheran on February 17.
