MARSHALL, Mich. – Calvin completed two days of competition at the Olivet College Lou Collins Memorial Invitational on Saturday.
The Knights finished ninth in the final team standings with a two-day total of 6972 strokes.
Sophomore Chandler Sjoerdsma (Riverside, Ca./Martin Luther King HS) tied for second place in the final individual standings with a two-day score of 155 strokes, shooting 74 on Friday and 81 on Saturday. She finished two strokes behind Sydney Weiner of DePauw who was the tournament medalist.
Junior Jericha Scharphorn (Hudsonville, Mich./Hudsonville HS) was Calvin's second-best finisher, recording a total of 176 strokes over the tournament, shooting 87 on Friday and 89 on Saturday.
Senior Kaylee Hirschman (Grand Ledge, Mich./Grand Ledge HS) was close behind, shooting 89 on Friday and 89 on Saturday for a tournament total of 178 strokes.
Sophomore Georgie Scholtens (Grandville, Mich./Calvin Christian HS) shot 92 on Friday and 96 on Saturday for a tournament score of 188 strokes.
Sophomore Brandi Statema (Holland, Mich./Holland Christian HS) had a 221, shooting 111 Friday and 110 on Saturday.
NEXT UP: Calvin will compete in the opening MIAA Fall Jamboree this coming Tuesday with Albion serving as host at the Duck Lake Country Club. Opening tee times are set for 1 p.m.
