MARSHALL, Mich. - The Calvin women's golf team sits in the eighth place in after the first day of the Olivet Invitational with a score of 342.
Hope is currently first place with 315 followed by Westminster College with a score of 323.
Chandler Sjoerdsma (Riverside, CA / Martin Luther King) scored a 74 on the first day and was tied for second overall. Junior Jericha Scharphorn (Hudsonville, MI / Hudsonville) was second on the team with a score of 87.
Senior Kaylee Hirschman (Grand Ledge, MI / Grand Ledge) shot an 87 while teammate Georgie Scholtens (Grandville, MI / Calvin Christian) scored a 92 on the day.
Sophomore Brandi Statema (Holland, MI / Holland) scored a 111 to wrap up team play for the Knights.
Katherine Lamer (Grand Rapids, MI / Grand Rapids Christian) was the only Knight that play in individual, and she scored a 102 in the first round.
