Calvin improved to 3-4 overall and 2-2 in MIAA competition with a 9-0 win over Olivet Wednesday afternoon at the Strikwerda Tennis Courts.
Calvin grabbed the opening three points by sweeping the doubles competition. Seniors Max Stallings (Grosse Pointe Woods, Mich./North HS) and Daniel Huan (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian HS) were 8-2 winners at No. 1 doubles. Freshman Jesse McCurdy (Anderson, Ind./Lapel) and freshman Adam Zentner (Clarkston, Mich./Clarkston HS) were 8-1 winners at No. 2 doubles and freshman Harrison Sindelar (Westfield, Ind./Westfield HS) and freshman Isaac Jeong (Novi, Mich./Novi HS) were 8-1 winners at No. 3 doubles.
Stallings opened singles play with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Donald Doyle of Olivet at No. 1 singles. McCurdy defeated Benjamin Morrow 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2 singles. Huan was victorious 6-0, 6-0 over Trevor Lewis at No. 3 singles and Sindelar a 6-0, 6-1 winner over Caleb Graham at No. 4 singles. Zentner defeated McKalen Jambor 6-1, 6-0 at No. 5 singles. Freshman Jace DeShetler (Grand Rapids, Mich./Northpointe Christian HS) defeated Dominick Wilson 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6 singles.
