GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Calvin dropped its conference opener, falling 9-0 to league power Kalamazoo Wednesday inside Calvin's Huizenga Tennis and Track Center.

The visiting Hornets (3-0 overall, 1-0 MIAA) took the early 3-0 lead with 8-3 wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles and then topped Calvin 8-5 at No. 2 doubles.

In singles play, senior Daniel Huan (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian HS) had a hard-fought match, falling 6-2, 6-4 at No. 3 singles.

Calvin is back in action on April 6 when it travels to rival Hope for a 4 p.m. match.
