ADA, Mich. – The Calvin women's golf team took second place in the MIAA Jamboree hosted by the Knights at Thornapple Pointe on Saturday afternoon.
Calvin took second with a team score of 326 while Hope finished in first with 316 and St. Mary's finished third with 331.
Sophomore Chandler Sjoerdsma (Riverside, CA / Martin Luther King) finished first on the team with a score of 75 and tied for first place overall for co-medalist honors. Senior Emma Dykhouse (Byron Center, MI / South Christian) finished second on the team with a score of 81 on the day.
Sophomore Georgie Scholtens (Grandville, MI / Calvin Christian) scored an 84 while teammate Kaylee Hirschman (Grand Ledge, MI / Grand Ledge) ended the day with a score of 86. Sophomore Katherine Lamer (Grand Rapids, MI / Grand Rapids Christian) rounded team play for the Knights with a score of 98.
In individual play for Calvin, Sophomore Brandi Statema (Holland, MI / Holland Christian) finished with a 90. Sophomore Anna Johnson (Holt, MI / Holt) scored a 105 while freshman Elizabeth Wichers (Puyallup, WA / Cascade Christian) finished with a 106.
UP NEXT: The Knights will begin competing in the MIAA Fall Tournament at Bedford Valley Country Club on Friday October 8 at 1 p.m.
