The Calvin men's tennis team was defeated by Cornerstone University in an afternoon exhibition contest at home Wednesday afternoon by a score of 9-0.
Starting with the doubles, Daniel Huan and Max Stallings fell to Alex Kanstansinau and John Cocoma, 8-5 at No. 1. At No. 2 doubles the team of Tanner Howard and Alejandro Santana defeated Jesse McCurdy and Harrison Sindelar with a score of 8-4. Rounding up the doubles at No. 3, the team of Isaac Jeong and Jace Deshetler fell to Matthew Hall and Jose Oliva 8-6.
In singles play, Max Stallings fell to John Cocoma at No. 1 with scores of 0-6, 0-7. At No. 2, Jesse McCurdy was defeated by Alex Kanstansinau with a score of 6-4, 5-7, 7-10.
At No. 3, Daniel Huan fell to Alex Kanstansinau, 3-6. 6-7, while Harrison Sindelar fell to Jose Oliva in two sets with scores of 4-6, 3-6, at No. 4. Jacob Stegman defeated Adam Zentner 6-2, 7-6-0 at No. 5. In No. 6 singles, Lucas Schupbach lost to Tanner Howard in two sets of 7-5, 2-6, 2-11.
