Luther Tops Men's Tennis

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Calvin men's tennis team fell short in the spring break finale on Friday night at the USTA Courts. Luther snapped Calvin's seven-match winning streak and send Calvin to 8-2 on the year.

"Luther is a very good team," said head coach John Ross. "They proved that tonight. We will have to learn from this to get better. Overall, I am happy with how this week went. We learned a lot of things and we will use those things to help us in the MIAA season."

The Knights lone doubles point came at No. 3 doubles. The team of junior Jose Larrea (Caracas, Venezuela/U.E. Colegio San Jose) and freshman Max Stallings (Grosse Pointe Woods, Mich./North) won, 8-6.

Max Stallings earned the second point of the evening for Calvin at No. 6 singles, defeating Brook Norwood, 7-5, 6-2.

Calvin returns to action on Wednesday at Spring Arbor.
