Box Score 2 MANCHESTER, Ind. - Calvin dropped both ends of a non-conference doubleheader at Manchester University on Saturday, falling by scores of 4-3 and 2-1.
In game one, Calvin trailed 2-0 through five frames but came up with two runs in the top of the sixth to tie the score 2-2.

Jonathan Keane (Brookfield, Wisc./Brookfield Central HS) knotted the scored with a one-out double down the right field line that plated sophomore
Quinn Hyndiuk (Elm Grove, Wisc./Brookfield East HS) and freshman
Ricky Padilla (Poway, Ca./Poway HS).
In the eighth, Hyndiuk singled to left with one out, stole second and then scored on a run-scoring single by Padilla.
In the bottom half of the eighth, Manchester placed two runners aboard with back-to-back singles and then scored the tying run on a wild pitch. With one out, Calvin intentionally loaded the bases but the host Spartans responded with a base hit up the middle to win the game.
Calvin used seven different pitchers with junior
Ryan Pena (Lake Forest, Ca./J. Serra Catholic HS) taking the loss in defeat.
Calvin (2-8) had seven hits in the loss with Keane and sophomore catcher
Logan Marshall (Plymouth, Mich./Salem HS) collecting two hits apiece.
In game two, Manchester (9-7) took a 1-0 lead with a run in the fourth. Calvin tied the game in the sixth as Padilla led off with a single, moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by Keane and later scored on a wild pitch.
Manchester retook the lead with a run in the bottom of the sixth on a fielder's choice that brought in a runner from third after the Spartans had loaded the bases.
Calvin will down in order in the top of the seventh however as the Spartans sealed the win.
The Knights were limited to just two hits in the game. Freshman
Mark Primus (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian HS) got his first collegiate start and went 3.1 innings, allowing only two hits and striking out three.

Chris Ralph (Naperville, Il./Waubonsie Valley HS) took the loss in defeat.
Calvin will travel to rival Hope on Saturday for a 1 p.m. doubleheader. The twinbill will mark the league opener for both teams.
