ADRIAN, Mich. – The Calvin men's tennis team fell short to the Adrian Bulldogs on Saturday afternoon, 6-3. The loss moves Calvin to 8-4 on the year and 2-2 in the MIAA.
"Today was a tough match," said head coach John Ross. "Adrian is a good team and they proved that today. We need to bounce back on Monday at Bethel."
Senior Matt Buesing and sophomore David Brown recorded the first point of the day for Calvin at No. 2 doubles. The duo defeated Jeff Sophiea and Jon Rhind, 8-5.
At No. 4 singles, junior Taylor Asfour defeated Jeff Sophiea, 6-1, 2-6, 4-4, by default.
Junior Anthony Vroon was victorious at No. 6 singles, downing Jon Rhind, 6-3, 6-3.
The Knights look to bounce back on Monday when they travel to Indiana to face Bethel.
