WESTFIELD, Ind. – The Knights fell in the season opener on Friday afternoon to Denison in an extra innings-thriller, 3-2. The Knights are now 0-1 on the young season and Denison starts off 1-0 on the year.

"That was a fun game to be a part of," said head coach John Rypel. "Unfortunately we came up just short. We have to do a better job with runners in scoring position, but I was encouraged by the swings we took. We had a lot of freshmen make their debuts today and I think they stepped up to the challenge. We are looking forward to getting back at it tomorrow.

The Knights return back to the diamond on Saturday as they will face the Big Red of Denison in a double header in Westfield, Indiana, starting at noon.
