Men's Tennis Concludes Season With 7-2 Loss to Rival Hope

The Calvin men's tennis concluded its 2014 campaign with a 7-2 defeat to rival Hope College Tuesday afternoon at the Strikwerda Tennis Courts.

The Knights end the season with an overall record of 5-12 and a conference record of 0-6.

Hope (8-10 overall, 4-2 MIAA) took early control by claiming two of the three doubles points. Calvin picked up its lone doubles point at one doubles with senior Loukas Peterson (Brentwood, TN/Brentwood HS) and sophomore Klaas Walhout (Grand Rapids/Grand Rapids Christian HS) winning 8-5.

Calvin's lone singles point came from senior Stephen Healy (Twin Lakes, IN/Twin Lakes HS) who claimed a 6-4, 6-3 win over Hope's Camden Ludlow at six singles.

Tuesday's match marked the final collegiate competition for Calvin seniors Healy, Peterson and John Strikwerda (Holland/Holland Christian HS).
