The Calvin University men's golf team was picked to finish second in the 2026-27 MIAA Preseason Poll released by the conference on Monday.
 
The Knights finished the poll with 45 total points, including three first-place votes to finish second behind Trine University, which received five first-place votes and 46 total points in the poll.
 
Last season under the direction of head coach Brian Bolt, Calvin won the MIAA Men's Golf Championship thanks to an average team score of 294.0 strokes in six MIAA events to earn its first trip to the NCAA III Men's Golf Championships since 2017, where it finished in a tie for 23rd place.
 
Calvin must replace senior All-MIAA First Team honorees Jack Marzolino and Matt Turcotte, but returns All-MIAA Second Team member Ethan Tiller (Kalamazoo, Mich./Portage Central), who recorded an average score of 74.17 in six MIAA events last season.
 
Tiller is joined by veteran returners Dylan Clark (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian), Josiah McClelland (Vicksburg, Mich./Vicksburg), Ford Erickson (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian) and Ian Tuin (Kalamazoo, Mich./Kalamazoo Christian), who each played in at least four MIAA events last season. Clark and McClelland joined Tiller in the Knights' line-up for the NCAA III Championship event last spring to end the season.
 
The Calvin men's golf team will open the 2026-27 season with the two-day Irish Hills Invite at Tecumseh Golf Club on September 11, with the first MIAA Jamboree event scheduled for September 29 at Zolner Golf Course in Angola, Indiana.
