FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. --Â Calvin University head coach
Brian Bolt has been named the 2026 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Men's Golf Coach of the Year after leading the Knights to a championship-winning season.
Bolt guided Calvin to the 2026 MIAA Men's Golf Championship with a season-low team average of 294.00, securing the program's first conference title since 2021 and the fifth championship in program history.
Under Bolt's leadership, Calvin showcased both individual excellence and roster depth throughout the season. Three Knights earned All-MIAA recognition, highlighted by 2026 MIAA Most Valuable Golfer Matt Turcotte. Turcotte and Jack Marzolino were both selected to the All-MIAA First Team, while Ethan Tiller earned Second Team honors.
A Calvin alum, Bolt is in his 21st season as head coach of the men's golf program and has continued to build upon the program's tradition of success through player development, competitive consistency, and championship performances.
I've been coaching in the MIAA for over 20 years, and each year it's a delight," commented Bolt. "I've loved the competition and camaraderie within the league, and coaching golf is very satisfying. Each team and player is different, and I love the challenge of creating a winning culture and developing student athletes across four years. I'm grateful for the support of Calvin University and my fellow coaches in the MIAA."
Bolt's latest Coach of the Year honor reflects both his longevity and his continued ability to position Calvin among the MIAA's premier programs, as the Knights once again reached the top of the conference standings.
