Jack Marzolino was named MIAA Athlete of the Week for men's golf on Monday.
Marzolino (Byron Center, Mich./Byron Center) won the honor for his performance in leading the Calvin men's golf team to the MIAA Championship last week at the MIAA Spring Finale.
In the two-day tournament to close the regular season, Marzolino won individual medalist honors after a two-day total of 6-under par in 138 total strokes, capped by a 4-under par round of 68 in Thursday's final round.
The two stellar rounds by Marzolino helped the Knights overcome a two-stroke deficit heading into the tournament to win the overall MIAA championship by six strokes thanks to a two-day team score of 576.
The MIAA title marks the first time the program has won the MIAA championship since the fall of 2021.
Calvin men's golf earned a bid into the NCAA III Men's Golf Championships with the MIAA championship. The NCAA III tournament will start on May 12 and run through May 15 at Mission Resort & Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida.
