The Calvin University women's tennis team received team and individual academic honors from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) on Wednesday.
Six members of the women's tennis team were named ITA Scholar Athletes, while the team also earned an ITA All-Academic Team.
Rachel Grissom (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central),
Tessa Holman (Washington, Mich./Romeo),
Sabrina Lopez (Steger, Ill./Illiana Christian),
Addie Cumings (Hudsonville, Mich./Jenison),
Julia Hooker (East Grand Rapids, Mich./East Grand Rapids) and
Alex VerMeulen (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids) each won ITA Scholar Athlete honors.
An individual must finish the school year with a grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 or higher to qualify for the ITA Scholar Athlete award.
To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, a team must finish with a collective GPA of 3.2 or higher for the school year.
The Knights finished the 2025-26 academic year with a 3.436 team GPA.
Calvin women's tennis finished the 2025-26 season under first-year head coach
George Rodriguez with a 10-8 overall record and finished second in the MIAA with a 6-2 league mark before falling in the MIAA Tournament final.
