JOLIET, Ill. – Several members of the Calvin University women's track and field team competed at University of St. Francis in the Fighting Chance Invite on Friday looking to improve marks before the NCAA III Outdoor Championships.
Four Calvin women competed on the day, which ended with
Ayla Holben (DeWitt, Mich./DeWitt) running a time of 11:21.37 in the 3000 meter steeplechase for 13th place in a strong heat.
In the 800 meters,
Kennedi Wood (Comstock Park, Mich./Sparta) took fourth in one heat in a time of 2:16.33, while
Peyton Ludwig (Ada, Mich./Forest Hills Central) finished sixth in her heat in 2:16.39.
Hailey Erickson (Arlington Heights, Ill./Prospect) ran the 1500 meters in 4:37.33, good for fifth place in that heat.
NEXT UP: More members of the Calvin track and field team will compete tomorrow (Saturday, May 9) on the second day of the St. Francis Fighting Chance Invite.
