RESULTS
LA CROSSE, Wis. – Calvin advanced a pair of individuals to event finals on Thursday at the NCAA III Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
Graduate student
Sydney Radigan (Portland, Ore./St. Stephen's Academy) advanced to the finals in the 200 meter dash as did senior
Sophie Bull (Denver, Co./Denver Christian HS) in the 3,000 meter steeplechase.
Radigan advanced out of the prelims of the 200 meter dash, winning the first of three heats with a time of 23.83. Her time was the fourth-fastest in the Thursday prelims. She will be one of nine competitors racing in the final on Saturday.
Bull took second in the second of two heats of the steeplechase prelims, cruising to a time of 10:28.25 that comfortably placed her in qualifying position. She will be one of 12 competitors racing in the championship final Friday at 7 p.m. Bull is the defending national champion in the event.
Also competing for Calvin on Thursday was senior
RyAnn Rohrer (Ludington, Mich./Ludington HS) who placed 21
st with a throw of 131-1 in the discus. Rohrer made a bid to advance into the championship finals but her third throw of the prelims flew just out bounds for a sector foul. Rohrer will compete in the shot put on Friday beginning at 2 p.m.

Adam Haldorson. "Sydney and Sophie executed their prelim races flawlessly, using energy in a highly-efficient manner to move forward to the finals. They did exactly what they were instructed to do. RyAnn competed well. Her final throw had the distance to put her in the mix for the finals but was just out of bounds. We are looking forward to watching her throw shot put tomorrow."
Also scheduled to compete for Calvin on Friday is senior
Mia DeJonge (Bellevue, Wash./Bellevue Christian HS) at 5:05 p.m. in the 100 hurdle prelims. DeJonge, freshman
Rayn Rutley (Fenton, Mich./Fenton HS), sophomore
Alison Bailey (Petoskey, Mich./Petoskey HS) and Radigan will also run in the 4x100 meter prelims at 4 p.m. with Radigan set to run in the 100 meter dash prelims at 6:20 p.m. Bull will then cap off the evening with the championship final in the steeplechase at 7 p.m.Â
