RESULTS

ALLENDALE, Mich. – The Calvin women's track and field team put together a strong day of competition at the GVSU Early Meet on Friday.

Calvin had several strong field event finishes. Senior RyAnn Rohrer (Ludington, Mich./Ludington HS) was sixth in the shot put with a throw of 42-4 ¼ that ranks 20^th nationally in Division III. Sophomore Lily Burns (Dexter, Mich./Dexter HS) was 10^th (38-0 ¼). Rohrer also placed sixth in the discus (127-3).

Calvin went 1-2-3-5 in the triple jump with sophomore Alina Veltkamp (Lynden, Wash./Lynden Christian HS) winning with a jump of 35-11 ½ with freshman Emily DeJonge (Bellevue, Wash./Bellevue Christian HS) second (34-5), senior Katelyn DeJonge (Bellevue, Wash./Bellevue Christian HS) third (33-9 ¼) and sophomore Emily Tubergen (Hudsonville, Mich./Unity Christian HS) fifth (31-2 ¾).

In the long jump, Veltkamp was fifth (18-0 ¼), Katelyn DeJonge (Bellevue, Wash./Bellevue Christian HS) eighth (16-3 ¼) and Tubergen 11^th (14-1 ¼). Sophomore Natalie Hensel (Battle Creek, Mich./Pennfield HS) was 11^th in the high jump (4-10 ¼) and sophomore Gabi Kempf (Macomb, Mich./Lutheran North HS) 13^th (4-8 ¼).

On the track, sophomore Peyton Ludwig (Ada, Mich./Forest Hills Central HS) and freshman Emma Wierenga (Grafton, Mass./Whitinsville Christian HS) formed a strong duo up front with Ludwig taking second with a career-best time of 2:14.81 with Wierenga third in 2:16.40. Ludwig's time ranks 20^th in Division III with Wierenga's time ranking 34^th.

Calvin also flashed a dynamic duo in the 1500 meters with senior Sophie Bull (Denver, Co./Denver Christian HS) taking second in 4:36.97 and junior Hailey Erickson (Arlington Heights, Ill./Prospect HS) taking fourth in 4:40.77. Bull's time ranks 16^th in Division III with Erickson's time ranking 30^th.

In the steeplechase, Calvin also put together a strong tandem as freshman Ayla Holben (DeWitt, Mich./DeWitt HS) took second in 11:25.15 with freshman Summer Myhren (Oakland, N.J./Indian Hills) fourth (12:24.70).

Freshman Annika DeJong (Stevensville, Mich./Lakeshore HS) was eighth in the 400 hurdles (1:08.46) with senior Marcail Schuurmann (Lombard, Ill./Timothy Christian HS) ninth (1:10.13).

Freshman Ava Sanchez-Mustapha (Okemos, Mich./Lansing Christian HS) was sixth in the 100 meter hurdles (15.95). She clocked a time of 15.43 in the prelims.
Calvin's 4x400 meter relay team of sophomore Audra Davids (Crowne Pointe, Ind./Illiana Christian HS), Ludwig, sophomore Robyn Tatko (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian HS), and Schuurman took fifth in 4:15.05.
