NORMAL, Ill. - Today the Calvin men's golf team opened its spring schedule when they competed in day one of the Illinois Wesleyan Invitational at the Weibring Golf Club.
The Knights finished the day with a team score 307 which put them in 31st place through day one of play. Illinois Wesleyan currently holds the top spot with a score of 281.
Sophomore
Ford Erickson (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian) and senior
Matt Turcotte (Grandville, Mich./Calvin Christian) led the way for the Knights as they both posted scores of 76, 5-over par on the 71-par course.
Senior
Jack Marzolino (Byron Center, Mich./Byron Center) was close behind when he finished his day with a score of 77 while sophomore
Dylan Clark (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian) rounded out the scoring for Calvin when he shot 78.
Junior
Ethan Tiller (Kalamazoo, Mich./Portage Central) and junior
Josiah McClelland (Vicksburg, Mich./Vicksburg) also played in the field where they finished with scores of 80 and 77, respectively.
UP NEXT: The Knights will be back in action tomorrow when they compete in day two of the Illinois Wesleyan Invitational with a tee time of 9 AM.
