Sydney Radigan Named MIAA Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week for the Second Time

Calvin University senior Sydney Radigan was named MIAA Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week for women's track and field on Monday.
 
Radigan (Beaverton, Ore./St. Stephen's Academy) won the honor after a record-breaking performance at Grand Valley State University on Saturday.
 
At the GVSU meet, Radigan inked her named on the all-time NCAA III outdoor track record books in both the 100 and 200 meters. In the 100 meters, Radigan's time of 11.4 is the second-fastest time in NCAA III history, broke the MIAA record by more than a quarter of a second, and broke her own school record by half of one second.
 
In the 200 meters, her time of 23.5 is the fourth fastest in NCAA III outdoor history, broke the MIAA record by almost half of one second, and shattered the Calvin record by 0.7 seconds.
 
Radigan won both races against NCAA I and II opponents and leads NCAA III this outdoor season in both races.
 
This marks the second time this season Radigan has been named MIAA Track Athlete of the Week, with her first time coming during the indoor season.
 
Calvin track and field will return to action this week when it competes at the MIAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Hope College on Thursday (April 30) and Friday (May 1).
