Calvin Women's Track & Field Puts Together Record-Breaking Saturday at GVSU Extra Meet Invite

RESULTS

ALLENDALE, Mich. – Calvin put together a record-breaking Saturday at the GVSU Extra Meet Invitational.

Graduate student Sydney Radigan (Portland, Ore./St. Stephen's Academy) shattered school marks in the 100 meter dash and 200 meter dash while senior Sophie Bull (Denver, Co./Denver Christian HS) broke a school record in the 5,000 meters.

Bull raced to a second-place finish in the 5,000 meters, clocking in with a time of 16:29.62 that ranks seventh in Division III women's outdoor track and field this spring. Her time breaks the previous Calvin (outdoor) 5K record of 16:39.23 set by Sadie Heeringa in 2022.

Radigan meanwhile burned up the Grand Valley track, winning the 100 meter dash in a school-record time of 11.40 and the 200 meter dash in a school-record time of 23.50. Both times sit No. 1 on the NCAA III outdoor performance list. Her time in the 100 breaks her previous school record of 11.90 set a year ago. Her 200 meter time breaks her previous school record of 24.19, also set last spring.

Radigan led a caste of Calvin sprinters in the 100 meter dash. Freshman Kaitlyn DiMaggio (Dearborn, Mich./Dearborn HS) was 12th in 12.39 with freshman Rayn Rutley (Fenton, Mich./Fenton HS) 13th in a personal-best time of 12.39. Senior Mia DeJonge (Bellevue, Wash./Bellevue Christian HS) was 19th in a personal-best time of 12.57. Rutley and DiMaggio are tied for fourth place on the MIAA outdoor performance list.

Ratley also placed 17th in the 200 meter dash in 25.90.

Also smashing through in a big way at Grand Valley on Saturday was senior RyAnn Rohrer (Ludington, Mich./Ludington HS) who won the shot put with a career-best throw of 45-2 1/2. The throw ranks 10th on the NCAA III outdoor performance list and No. 1 in the MIAA. She also took fourth in the discus with a career-best throw of 152-1 that ranks seventh on the NCAA III outdoor performance list and No. 1 in the MIAA.

Sophomore Jessica Bossenbroek (Holt, Mich./Holt HS) took seventh in the 400 meters in a personal-best time of 58.23. Mia DeJonge was sixth in the 100 hurdles (14.45).
