Calvin University freshman Dasha Mason was named MIAA Field Athlete of the Week for women's outdoor track and field on Monday.
 
Mason (Graham, Wash./Graham Kapowsin) earned the honor for her performance at the Thrills in the Hills invite at Emory University over the weekend.
 
At the meet, Mason had a strong first outdoor performance of her collegiate career with an 11.79 meter mark in the triple jump to finish second at the meet. That mark currently ranks third nationally in NCAA III, third on the all-time MIAA list, third in Calvin outdoor history, and first in the MIAA this season by nearly three feet.
 
This marks the second time this season Mason has earned Field Athlete of the Week honors after previously winning it during the indoor season in early February.
 
Calvin track and field is set to return to action this weekend when it competes at Grand Valley State University on Friday and Saturday.
